Aiea Intermediate School teacher and students develop a fun card game (Kumu l膩驶au) to learn about the many benefits and challenges native trees face in Hawai`i鈥檚 changing environment.
By implementing computer-blended learning, students at Farrington High School experienced incredible growth in their math skills. Each student utilizes access to personalized computer programs.

The 吃瓜黑料 is a community-based non-profit organization founded in 1986 and dedicated to strengthening the quality of public education in Hawaii by advancing innovation from within. Our programs and initiatives are designed to encourage those in public education to continually challenge themselves in pursuit of educational excellence. In addition, we help to equip students with the skills necessary to take on the challenges of an uncertain future.
Applications for the 2026-2027 school year are now being accepted. Deadline: June 8, 2026. Awardees will be notified by July 17, 2026. The Foundation鈥檚 showcase for innovation, creativity, and educational excellence is the 鈥淕ood Idea Grants鈥 Program. The Good Idea Grants Program is designed to enhance innovation in the classroom and empower teachers to bring their good ideas to life. Mini-grants of up to $3,000 provide public school teachers with the needed financial resources not available through usual government channels.
